Those look so unusual to someone who has grown up looking at dungeness crabs! At first I thought the claws were dipped in something and then deep fat fried, or perhaps had been baked in a shell of pastry (I wouldn’t put it past a chef to do something like that. They are sneaky buggers …) However, I googled those stone crabs and found another angle upon which to look.
Nope, them things is not doctored! They is just that way!
They are now on my list of things to try should I ever wind up in Florida again.
